61. For the Delhi girl

The shock created by the rape and murder of ‚Nirbhaya‘, the Delhi rape victim, is still creating waves among the people and that fright is being reflected in the social sphere in many ways. The latest example is a book of poems, ‚Delhi Penkutikku‘ (For the Delhi girl), edited and created by the students of Kannur University’s Department of Mass Communication and Journalism.

The book is a poetic homage to the Delhi rape victim and it also strongly criticizes and raises voice against the recent Tirur rape incident and other sexual assaults on women in the state. The book is a collection of 24 poems written by the Journalism Department’s students and teachers. / P Sudhakaran, Times of India
