Tom Paulin

Der irische Dichter Tom Paulin darf nicht an der Harvard University lesen, nachdem Studenten wegen israelkritischer Äußerungen massiv gegen seine Einladung protestiert hatten.
Mr Paulin, who is lecturing at New York’s Columbia University but is a member of Hertford College in Oxford, told the Egyptian newspaper al-Ahram Weekly last April that American-born settlers in the occupied territories „should be shot dead. I think they are Nazis, racists, I feel nothing but hatred for them.
Schon im vergangenen Jahr hatte es Proteste gegeben wegen eines Gedichts in der Zeitung „Observer“, in dem es hieß:

„another little Palestinian boy/ in trainers jeans and a white teeshirt/ … gunned down by the Zionist SS“ / Guardian 14.11.01
